15-16 and 22-23 September 2007, Royal Festival Hall
[re]design organized a series of inspiring workshops at the Royal Festival Hall as part of the London Design Festival, utilizing household waste and sustainable materials to make fun and desirable products. A wide range of activities meant there was something to appeal to everyone – adults, families and children.

[RE]DESIGN BADGES
A quick, drop-in activity making personalised badges or rosettes using a selection of fabric scraps, old flyers, posters and magazines, with special [re]word ribbon to get everyone [re]thinking.
MIMO - MONSTER MASTERCLASS
Making funky monsters and cute characters from well-loved, worn old clothing.
TETRIS CARDBOARD FURNITURE
Creating the world’s cheapest designer furniture from discarded cardboard boxes. Help “grow” some unique furniture which will be used by the public at the Royal Festival Hall… and learn a simple, customisable technique for making your own furniture.
SUNDAY PAPERS
Using tightly rolled newspapers to build distinctive furniture – to take home or to become part of the Royal Festival Hall’s collection.
KNITTING AND KNOTTING
Contemporary knitting using yarn made from reclaimed plastic bags to knit a unique case for your iPod or phone, or weave a simple charm.

MULTI-SHEER TEXTILE PANELS (22 September only)
Creating gorgeous textile panels entirely from polyester (including fabrics and hard plastics from bottles and food packaging), designed for disassembly and closed-loop recycling. Components are added using tag guns to create a multi-layered pattern. Come and contribute to a beautiful item which will be displayed in the RFH window.
