Greengaged Begins
Greengaged, London 15 September 2008

Greengaged burst into sunny action this morning at the Design Council. While Sarah started off proceedings inside, I delivered my Skip Park installation commissioned by [re]design for the Greengaged event. The parking space directly in front of the Design Council entrance was reserved ready to receive a skip, complete with grass, a tree and a rocking bench.

The skip was filled and the turf laid at the skip hire depot yesterday, the tree was delivered this morning by Tendercare and lowered into place with a small crane.

Mark from thomas.mathews brought along the graphics (speech bubbles containing facts on waste) to attach to the skip.

Tim from Elliott Skip Hire had patiently waited while all the preparation was made ready, then we lowered the new, temporary park onto Bow Street.

With the addition of the steps leading into the skip, which now also contained a rocking bench, it was ready to receive visitors. And who better than the Greengaged organisers!
